My Little Bear

I know I shouldn't complain, especially considering that Lila is sleeping through the night, but this child can be a little beast during the day! For a kid who goes down so easily at night, I can't figure out why she hates her crib during the day. So it's only appropriate that she dressed up as a bear for Purim (a Jewish festival in which costumes are customary). Nana Barbara put Lila in her little bear jumper and drew some whiskers on her face and voila...my little cub was transformed.

Kaden Comes to Visit

My best friend of many many years, Jamie Flynn, flew in with her mom, Dana, and her precious baby boy, Kaden. It was a quick visit but we were thrilled to have them here for a couple of days. Kaden is such a happy, incredibly flirtatious, little boy. Jamie is an amazing mom, and her son obviously adores her.

Being betrothed and all, we tried to get the kiddies to interact with each other a bit. They managed to get in a couple of staring contests and a little cuddle time.
Yesterday Dana conducted a very animated storytime for Kaden and Lila. Both kids were captivated. "Gammy D" certainly has a way with the little ones! Here's a video clip:

We're so grateful for their visit, and especially for the fact that Aunt Jamie clipped Lila's fingernails...as I'm too chicken to try it. We can't wait to see Jamie, Kevin and Kaden again in May!

Night Crimes

A couple of nights ago, Gabe and I heard a little thud. Lila had kicked herself over onto her side and then onto her belly--we found her lying face down in her crib. She clearly did not intend on staying that way because she continued to kick her little legs, trying to get up the leverage to roll over again. Only problem being...she can only roll in one direction so she ran out of room when she hit the crib bars. We found her the same way the next couple of nights. Then last night I put her to bed in a onesie and some pants. I woke up this morning to find that, not only had she kicked the pants completely off, but they had been catapulted onto the floor four feet away from the crib. This kid is up to no good.

Five Weeks

This week we had a visit from our cousins, Susie and Guy, and their daughter Yael. Yael has a beautiful smile and is so pleasant to be around, much like her parents! We also had a visit from our cousin Laurie Kardos and our uncles Tony and Ivan (all the way from Orlando).

Tiny Dancer

One of Lila's favorite activities is dancing with her Daddy. When nothing else will calm her, a slow dance to some country music will do the trick. Lately I've been introducing some salsa and merengue, which she seems to like as well. In this video, Uncle Nick gave Lila a little lesson in Latin dancing.
