Lila's First Passover

Lila's first Passover was great fun, even if she had no idea what was going on. We spent both nights in New Jersey with our cousins, The Kardos Family (extended). Lila got to meet the rest of the Kardos clan, along with Gabe's godparents, Marta and Michael, and their daughter, Nicole.Lila also got in some playtime with her cousin, Yael. Yael is super friendly--I just don't think Lila was quite ready for all of that love.

QT with the Unc's

Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Shveta came to Brooklyn to spend a little quality time with their neice. So we all went to Pacifico, a local Mexican joint, to celebrate Uncle Nicky's 30th birthday with lots of margaritas! Fun times!

Lila Tours the Sunshine State

Lila enjoyed her first airplane ride for a fun-filled trip to Florida. We were, of course, nervous about how she would behave, but she was a perfect angel. We spent the weekend in Miami, where I went to South Beach for some girl time, and Gabe played single Dad at his Nana and Papa's condo in Aventura. We were very excited to introduce Lila to her great-grandparents, and they were terrific hosts to Gabe and Lila. They spent most of their time lounging at the pool--Gabe's favorite activity.
Lila, Gabe, and his grandparents drove to South Beach one morning so I could see my baby girl, and so Lila could meet her Aunt Casey and her Aunt Feigel. It was a most happy reunion.
On Sunday we drove up to Orlando, where Lila got to meet the extended Moreno family...including her great-grandmother ("Bisabuela") Bertacilia. Bisabuela greeted us at the door, snatched Lila from Gabe's arms, and then scurried into another room so she wouldn't have to share her great-granddaughter. Lila also spent some quality time with my Aunt Nora and my cousin Erica.

Texas Comes To Town

The last few days we had a fantastic visit from Grandpa, Grandi and Aunt Kenzie. Kenzie chose to spend her spring break up here in cold, rainy New York...what a committed Auntie!
We spent a couple of days indoors, just enjoying some quiet time (and waiting out the rain).I, of course, put my Dad and Andi to work. Daddy got busy with various handyman tasks around the apartment, while Andi put the finishing touches on Lila's room. In addition to her new curtains and bumper, Lila also received a knit hat, homemade by Grandi. It fit her perfectly!
Once the weather cleared up we took a long stroll around Prospect Park and Park Slope. Meanwhile, Gabe had his first trip away--he spent the weekend in Las Vegas for our friend Paul's last hoorah as a bachelor. I know he had a great time, but I could tell he really missed his baby girl.

I'm Stuffed!

Today we had brunch with our sweet friends, Karen Mordechai and Ken Rivera. Karen snapped this photo of Lila and I love it! It really showcases her chins.

Eight Weeks

Gabe likes to imitate Lila's faces. I guess we know where she gets it.Lila had her two-month visit this week. She weighed 10 and a half pounds, which means she gained 2 pounds and 5 ounces since her last visit a month ago. Not bad! She's 22 1/2 inches long; both her weight and height put her in the 50th percentile. The doctor put her up on the table and Lila started showing off--she gave her a huge smile, then pushed herself up by her arms and flipped right over. Dr. Oppenheim got a good laugh out of it. Lila also had her vaccinations today. The doctor was so fast that it took Lila a few moments to realize what had happened--then the screaming started. But I'd still say she did pretty well considering she had four shots in her thighs. Ouch.
